This athletic shoe features mechanical spring loaded parts which are built-into the midsole. This particular structure provides the shoe with additional shock absorption as well as energy return. This is claimed to help increase comfort and also efficiency. The springs are interchangeable and are calculated depending on the weight of the athlete. Calculations furnished by Enko suggest that the gains provided by the shock absorbers concerning mechanical energy is somewhere between 6% and 14% depending on the pace of the athlete.

It’s not apparent if the shoe will likely be broadly used at this time, however, some concerns have been expressed concerning the design and how it could possibly affect the foot and leg biomechanics.
