Gowers’ sign is a sign that is so common in the muscular dystrpphies that it is almost pathognomic. The sign indicates a weakness of the proximal pelvic muscles of the lower limb. The sign how a patient that has to use his hands and arms to “walk” up their legs from a prone position due to lack of proximal muscle strength.
